Tech adoption takes a while, but leaders in tech marketing seem to have forgotten the crucial trial and error examples other tech launches have made in the past. Tivo floundered for a while with mainstream (post maven) adopters because they couldn’t distinctly postition a DVR. Various PDAs and smartphones also had a similar adoption hurdle, failing to engage the public in a speedy fashion. So today, with as high of a tech iq as the general public has, I don’t think people will grasp the iPad they way they did the iPod. What is it? It’s a reader, it’s a game device, it’s an email device. “But wait there’s more!” I can hear Billy Mays bellow. Simply put, the iPad fails to say what it’s for. It doesn’t have a distinct positioning. Will this be it’s downfall?
“If you care and are receptive to feedback
appropriately, eventually the market will help sort
things out for you. People will come across your
work and suggest helpful tools and ideas. Some
will be rude, some will be condescending, and
some will be generous and kind.
But if you keep everything in your head then you
can’t expect anyone else to appreciate your genius
or trust your knowledge - they don’t know it exists.”

It looks like Americans are…Shared by Greg
This is an interesting chart, and it makes sense given the current environment. One major oversight is student loan debt though. Salle Mae owns me.

It’s amazing how heated the rhetoric has become during the recent late night talkshow dust up. It makes for great TV to see these hosts finally airing their grievances against their rivals. Leno’s even talking about Letterman’s sex scandal now.
Now, for the record, I’m with Coco.

I had a sense we’d be hearing from Mac soon…

C’mon… Tbell and a weight loss benefit? Who knew they’d publicize their side effects.
Conan is a much better entertainer than Leno in my view, but his wheelhouse is his quirky and unconventional style. With the Tonight Show, I feel that he moved away from that strength, playing to masses with longer (and more boring) monologues and interviews. Jay’s approachable, nice guy image probably makes him a better fit for the 11:30 hour’s mass audience.
How can we get back the old Conan?
